Smith’s Consumer Products has hired Beau Parker to replace former CEO Dan Glidden, who retired effective April 30, 2015. Libbey to Offer Spiegelau Glassware to Retail Markets
Libbey Inc. and renowned German glassware company Spiegelau have brokered an agreement in which Libbey will become the exclusive U.S. distributor of their glassware lines in the retail industry, effective July 1.
The newly formed agreement is part of the brand’s “Own the Moment” strategy, which aims to grow the business 4 to 6 percent annually to achieve a year-end 2018 revenue target in excess of $1 billion.

Consumer Demand Shows Trend Toward Local Foods
Will local foods overtake organic foods in popularity? Some members of the food industry think so, based in part on consumer demand now at an all-time high.
Data from a November 2014 proprietary Packaged Facts National Consumer Survey published in “Shopping for Local Foods in the U.S.” found that 53 percent of the 2,271 adult respondents specially seek out locally grown or locally produced foods.
