Pusateri’s Opens Second Saks Food Hall; Re-opens Avenue Road

Pusateri’s Fine Foods, Toronto’s premiere gourmet food retailer, has opened its second food hall in Canada. The Saks Food Hall by Pusateri’s at CF Toronto Eaton Centre opened Nov. 10, just months after the original Saks Food Hall by Pusateri’s at CF Sherway Gardens opened.

At more 25,000 square feet, the food hall on the lower level of Saks Fifth Avenue’s Queen Street location is designed to be a one-of-a-kind shopping destination for food enthusiasts. The food hall concept to serves a number of occasions under one roof: fresh coffee and pastry in the morning, healthy lunch on-the-go, take-home prepared meals for restaurant-quality dinners, everything needed for the weekly grocery shop, or that special ingredient.

Saks Food Hall by Pusateri’s features interactive gourmet food experiences, including:

Champagne Bar: A truly unique experience featuring best-in-class champagne, fine wine and local beer assortments, all paired with a fresh raw bar and an innovative market menu curated by Pusateri’s corporate chef, Tony Cammalleri.

The Chopped Bar: Salad gets taken to a whole new level at the a-la-carte salad bar, overflowing with fresh greens, gourmet cheese and meats and dressings. For early risers, there’s a make-your-own yogurt parfait counter.

Sushi Bar: Take-away or eat-in, the sushi bar offers made-to-order cuts of fresh fish paired with crisp vegetables and innovative toppings and hand-rolled by expert sushi chefs.

Rosticceria: Traditional rotisserie dishes with fresh carved meats and a rotating menu of gourmet street foods and sides for all-day gourmet food options, to-go.

BENE, A Pusateri’s Pizzeria: Roman-style pizza served by the slice featuring crust made with Le 5 Stagioni flour that comes from a 150-year-old Italian mill, sauces made from certified DOP San Marzano tomatoes and Canadian Fior Di Latte cheese.

Sorelle and Co.: Their unique approach to food mixes refined elegance with healthy, worry-free ingredients and family-friendly style. Enjoy treats that are gluten-free, soy-free, sesame-free, vegan, nut-free and preservative-free in their first location outside of the original flagship in Vaughan.

Pusateri’s Café: Respecting authentic Italian coffee bar traditions, each cup is poured by baristas dedicated to the fine art of coffee.

Daits: Fresh counter serving Saudi dates adorned with gourmet toppings.

Plus market-fresh produce, local cheese and deli offerings, classic pantry items, freshly baked goods and restaurant-quality prepared fare.

“Creating food halls for Saks has allowed us to dream our biggest dreams and make them a reality,” explained Frank Luchetta, president of Pusateri’s. “We’re a team of fiercely passionate individuals who are thrilled to bring Toronto a space that reflects our inherent love for food.”

Pusateri’s will also re-open its Avenue Road location on Nov. 17. The gourmet grocer’s flagship location was destroyed by fire in August 2015, and for over a year a team has worked to bring the store back to life. Luchetta assured the community that, “it will be worth the wait, and they can expect an even better space with many new experiences along with classic product offerings.”

Highlights of the Avenue Road store will include Rosticceria, a live cooking area featuring rotisserie items and gourmet street foods, a Greenhouse Juice Co. shop-in-shop offering organic cold-pressed juices, and a re-developed Pusateri’s Café with artisanal coffee blends and baked goods. PlusPusateri’s is bringing a full-service Italian restaurant to the upper level of the new space.

In addition to these gourmet experiences, Pusateri’s on Avenue Road will add more than 100 products to its deluxe grocery offering. The full-service departments will be upgraded including an increased local and international cheese selection, bolstered deli meat offering, expanded bread boutique, amplified assortment of prepared food and elevated array of hand-rolled sushi.
