Kuhn Rikon Wins Good Housekeeping 2021 Sustainable Innovation Award

PETALUMA, California, November 1, 2021 -- Kuhn Rikon is proud to be one of Good Housekeeping's 2021 Sustainable Innovation Award winners for its innovative new line of skillets made with recycled materials, the “New Life” skillet.

Recognized in the kitchen and food category alongside industry heavyweights like Beyond Meat and Just Egg, the brand's "New Life” Skillet was chosen by Good Housekeeping Institute experts and sustainability professionals through a demanding nomination and selection process.

The “New Life” skillet turns cans into pans by recycling post-consumer metal derived from beverage cans, bicycles and more and turning it into a uniquely durable aluminum alloy that is then used to create a high-performance, long-lasting nonstick skillet. Approximately 30 cans are used to make every New Life skillet—and the process uses about 95% less energy than manufacturing a skillet with new materials. Kuhn Rikon is proud to offer a product that helps consumers close the loop on the recycling process.

"Good Housekeeping is a trusted voice in the kitchenware industry, with a proven track record of recognition for companies that are moving the needle on consumer-facing sustainability initiatives, said Kuhn Rikon Corp. President Mark Adkison. “We are proud to be the recipients of a Good Housekeeping Sustainability Award.
