Celebrity chefs, including “Top Chef Masters” host Curtis Stone and “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro, will top the lineup appearing in the Cooking Theater at the 2014 International Home + Housewares Show (IH+HS) March 15-18 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
The Cooking Theater is the focal point of Savor Home, the revitalized Gourmet Food + Specialty Products category in the Dine + Design Expo in the South Building. On hand will be exhibitors of specialty and gourmet treats, and the tools used to prepare them.
The chef demonstrations will begin at 11:30 a.m. March 15 and continue through March 18. Other celebrity chefs showcasing their culinary skills will be Michelin-star-rated chef Grant Achatz, Food Network’s “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto, “Top Chef Masters” champions Rick Bayless and Chris Cosentino, “Top Chef” Fabio Viviani, Food Network chefs Aarón Sánchez and Claire Robinson, and PBS’ “A Chef’s Life” host, Vivian Howard. Also appearing are well-known chefs José Andrés, Michelle Bernstein, Lorena Garcia, Gale Gand, Ming Tsai and Anupy Singla.
Other chefs include Matt Abdoo, Devin Alexander, Jay Caputo, George Duran, Bernard Guillas, Ingrid Hoffmann, Patrick McMurray, Martial Noguier, Pascale Salam Jaubert and Patty and Tom Erd.
Many of the chefs will also be doing book signings after their demonstrations.
The Cooking Theater is jointly sponsored by KitchenAid, Wilton Brands, Robinson Home Products and Whole Foods Market.
The revitalized Savor Home entertaining destination features design-inspired wine accessories, gourmet food products and home entertaining themes. Nestled between Discover Design and Tabletop, new exhibitors in the section are The American Cookie Cutter Co. by Ann Clark Ltd., Brooklyn Brew Shop, Cakes Under the Influence, Collins Brothers, Cork Pops Inc., DeBrand Fine Chocolates, Funky Chunky, Jaq Jaq Bird, North Air Market, Olivier Napa Valley, RAVI Solutions, Tin Parade Vintage Party Goods and Tonguespank.
The 2014 International Home + Housewares Show will feature nearly 2,100 exhibitors and attract more than 60,000 attendees. The show opens at 10 a.m. March 15 to give buyers and exhibitors more time to hold meetings and plan strategies. It closes at 3 p.m. March 18.
