Door to Door Organics Expands Colorado Service

Door to Door Organics, a leading natural and organic online grocer, has expanded its Colorado service to Aspen and the surrounding region, including Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, El Jebel, Basalt, Snowmass, Redstone and Marble.

The company began delivering farm-fresh organic produce in 2005 in Boulder, Colo., out of a 300-square-foot garage and today operates in 30 markets and 11 states in the West, Midwest and East Coast, with additional expansion plans in 2015.

“Our goal is to increase convenient access to local, natural and organic foods for all conscious Colorado consumers,” said Chad Arnold, CEO of Door to Door Organics. “The healthy and vibrant energy of Aspen and the surrounding communities aligns perfectly with the company and the customer culture that Door to Door Organics has cultivated in other regions across the state. We are thrilled to integrate our passion for good food into the mountain lifestyle, and look forward to participating in many of the annual festivals and events that make Aspen so dynamic.”

More than 90 percent of Door to Door Organics customers cite supporting local farmers and artisan food producers as a key reason for choosing the online grocery shopping service, in addition to eating healthier and increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables they consume each week.

During the growing season, Aspen customers will be able to choose up to 70 percent locally grown produce in their regular deliveries, thanks to a uniquely integrated mix of distributors and farmers offering a USDA-certified organic produce supply chain. More than 120 Colorado brands are also available year-round in the comprehensive Shop section of Door to Door Organics’ website, with new local producers being added regularly.

Door to Door Organics recently received $25.5 million in Series B financing, and expanded services to Kalamazoo, Mich., earlier this month. The company’s approach to sustainable growth positions it to play an integral role in the expected increase of online grocery shopping to 11 percent of the total $650 billion grocery market by 2023, according to a company statement.

The company’s weekly and biweekly organic produce and curated grocery delivery service – backed by the Door to Door Organics’ Perfect Pick Guarantee – combine the simplicity of a recurring order with the personalization and flexibility that busy customers need, without a delivery fee, according to Arnold.

Since its founding, Door to Door Organics has made more than 2 million deliveries and expects to acquire more than 50,000 new customers by the end of 2015.
