Jim Donald Added to IDDBA 17 Speaker Lineup

Madison, WI — The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association™ (IDDBA) added Jim Donald to the speaker lineup at IDDBA 17. Donald’s presentation is titled “Lessons from Retail: From the Founding Executives to the Front-Line Employee.” IDDBA 17 runs June 4-6 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

Named one of the “Top 25 CEO’s in the World” by The Best Practice Institute, Jim Donald is a successful leader and an accomplished businessman in retail. As former CEO of Starbucks, Haggen Food & Pharmacy, and Extended Stay Hotels, Donald spent four decades watching, listening, learning, and executing strategies and lessons from employees and retail icons.

He joined Starbucks in 2002 as president and led them through some of the company’s most rapid global expansion with record financial performance and growth. He focused on the human connection with front-line employees and face-to-face marketing that moved product and kept customers happy. With more than 35 years of experience in the supermarket industry, Donald was a key executive in the development and expansion of Walmart Super Center, where he was personally recruited by Sam Walton, Walmart founder, because of his prosperous reputation in grocery retail.

In his witty and wise lessons from retail—lessons they don’t teach in business school—Donald distills the wisdom he’s gained from working with employees in some of the most momentous companies in the world.
