Carandini Opens New Production Facility In Scandiano, Italy

Scandiano, Italy –Carandini, one of the oldest Modenese families producing vinegar since 1641, opened a new production facility in Scandiano. The new facility, whose opening was delayed two years due to COVID, is over 54 thousand square meters.


The space stores raw materials, and oversees the blending, refining, and aging of over 3 million liters of product, which is later housed in centuries-old barrels, casks and barriques. Also a part of the production site is the Exhibition and Events Room, designed to offer an informative experience to both enthusiasts and tourists, as well as an event space for local companies.


“We are happy to finally and officially open the doors of the new facility, which for us, represents a milestone — an important step in our path of growth and continuous improvement. We are eager for the space to not only become a site where production can improve but also where fellow citizens, customers, and enthusiasts alike can enjoy a learning experience on one of Italy’s most representative products,” Carandini’s CEO Stefano Bellei announced.

The acetaia features century-old barrels containing Carandini Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI, which allow visitors to inhale the aroma and taste the complexity of such a unique product.


Hosted bythe Pradelski family and Bellei, the facility’s grand opening commenced with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. In attendance were the President of Emilia Romagna Stefano Bonaccini, Deputy Mayor of Scandiano Elisa Davoli, and Municipal Assessor of Castelnuovo Rangone Matteo Ferrari. The Carandini headquarters have been in Scandiano since 1988.
