Ethnic Foods Appeal to Younger Americans and Households With Children
Young Americans and those with children like to spice things up in the kitchen, according to new research from Mintel on the ethnic foods market. Nine in 10 adults aged 25 to 34 say they prepared ethnic food at home in the past month versus only 68 percent of those older than 65. Target Acquires Internet Retailers CHEFS Catalog, Cooking.com
Target Corp., Minneapolis, has reached agreements to acquire CHEFS Catalog and assets of Cooking.com in two separate transactions. The e-commerce acquisitions are aimed at expanding Target’s presence in the growing cooking and kitchenware market. Following the closings, the two businesses will be combined to create a new, wholly owned subsidiary of Target. A national panel of expert judges named a Wisconsin Gouda as the 2013 U.S. Championship Cheese.
