Clementine’s Owner John David Babcock Dies
David Babcock, founder and owner of gourmet kitchen store Clementine’s in Del Rey Oaks, Calif., and Brinton’s in Carmel before that, died Aug. 3.Babcock’s career started at a young age at the local Moose Lodge where his parents John and Barbara Babcock were active members. Jelly Belly Moves Production to California
As part of a strategic realignment of its U.S. domestic business, Jelly Belly Candy Co. will soon move production from the North Chicago factory where its jelly beans have been produced since 1978.Seventy jobs will be eliminated as the company moves production of all Jelly Belly brand candy products to its headquarters in Fairfield, Calif.
