Citra Products Featured in Museum Exhibit
Products from a nostalgic brand reminiscent of old Florida vacation souvenirs, Citra Products of Florida, are among the items being featured at the Manatee County Agricultural Museum’s exhibit Citrus Kitsch: Memories of Old Florida through Feb. 18.
Citra will have products, including its flagship product from 1910, a wooden “citrus sucker,” on display at the exhibit, which explores the citrus industry in Florida through souvenirs, according to the museum. The exhibit includes early 20th century postcards of packinghouses and groves, citrus tools like the Citra Sipper sold in grove stands, and the characters used to sell "Florida Gold”.

Sempli Extends Los Angeles Pop Up Shop Through December
Sempli, which opened the pop up shop in September, has extended its run through the end of December at the Liberty Concept Space in Los Angeles. The shop hosted a Japanese whisky tasting event Nov. 15 featuring its Cupa-Rocks Ice Glass.

Organic Coffee Shop Owners Launch Snack Subscription Business
The owners of a successful pair of organic-themed downtown coffee shops have put together B-Natural Snacks, a delivery subscription service for granolas, nut and fruit mixes and protein bars, according to an article in the New Haven Independent.
The new venture grows out of, and operates from, Gabi Merayo’s and Nebya Shewaye’s B-Natural coffee shop/restaurants.
Merayo and Shewaye, who have run B-Natural’s two locations for 12 years, told the newspaper they are looking to the new business model as a way of growing their enterprise. They tout the operation as New England’s “first snack subscription service.”

U.S. Seafood Consumption Rises
The average American ate nearly a pound more seafood in 2015 than he or she did the previous year, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
NOAA released the statistic along with its annual Fisheries of the United States report. It said per capita consumption of seafood grew to 15.5 pounds in 2015 from 14.6 pounds in 2014.
The growth brought per capita consumption of seafood to its highest point since 2010, and it’s also the biggest jump of its kind in at least 25 years.
