Bring On The Cheese & Charcuterie I am so pleased to see that fine cheese and cured meats have elevated their popularity in recent years. I don’t feel like such a cheese geek when I pull out my stash of around 40 cheese knives of every size, shape, and variety. As you probably already know, we also publish a publication about the specialty cheese market, and I have always been a lover of the craft. On Christmas Eve each year, we host a party for the family at our home and I get to dig out my complete collection of cheese goodies from platters and boards, to my aforementioned knife collection, and a cheese dome or two for visual impact. It really is a great way to entertain a large group and host a memorable evening filled with great food. Best of all, I didn’t have to cook a thing thanks to all of the hardworking cheese makers out there that labored tirelessly to put these amazing foods on my table. Now, I am not so much in the minority in my cheese obsession, and others are also discovering the pleasures of cheese, and investing in the right equipment for the quintessential cheese & charcuterie board. As a result, I think the category is growing in popularity and deserves a major presentation in your retail store. As it turns out, our industry suppliers have also recognized this trend, and are rolling some great new products to the market. In this issue, we preview some of the wonderful creative and beautiful products that being debuted at the upcoming Las Vegas Market Winter Show this month. We have collected information on a great selection of products for this category, including cheese and charcuterie presentation boards of every size, shape, and material. There is surely something that will work in your current assortment. If rustic is more your style, you can find that too, by looking to the Parkhill Collection offerings. There are many resources available at the Las Vegas market that can help you build a tantalizing display for this category, which will draw a lot of attention at point of sale. We hope you don’t find this issue too “cheesy” , and wish you great success in the coming year.
