Messe Frankfurt’s Ambiente Alive and Well
Thank god we have been able to put the pandemic behind us, and move forward once again with business. The challenge was certainly devastating to many businesses related to our industry from well-known retail outlets to the suppliers themselves. The organizers of the trade events that we rely on to assemble trade participants had to suffer unfathomable multi-year closures which would strain any business that couldn’t anticipate such an abrupt stop to cash flow. I am pleased to see that trade shows have managed to come back to life.
Messe Frankfurt, which stages the leading home category Ambiente Fair each year in Germany had to survive and endure this temporary pause in business across all of their broad portfolio of trade events. Fortunately, Ambiente is back with renewed energy and part of one of the largest trade events in the world.
This year I was excited to experience Ambiente again because it is such a unique event in the industries we follow and report on. At this show I know that I will certainly always find a new brand, notice new trends emerging, and engage with the product creators to better understand all of the thought and attention to detail that has gone into creating a new product that will resonate with consumers today.
One of the areas of the show I look forward to the most is the largest collection of tabletop that one can encounter in one place. The booth displays organized by the leaders in tabletop fashion are magnificent…colorful, well lit, exceptionally merchandised, and just pleasing to the eyes. Seeing it all together in one place like this is incredibly informative for anyone trying to get his or her head around what is going on in the space.
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I present you with my own personal account through my own photos and brief thoughts on the latest in tabletop products as found at Ambiente 2024.
